With Selena Gomez on the rise after split from long-time boyfriend Justin Bieber, the world wants to know her view on everything she’s going through. The 21-year-old singer opened up to Teen Vogue in the December/January issue on being rebellious like her ex, “You fall in love and it completely consumes you. So a part of you is broken when that’s gone. And part of you wants to have that rebellious feeling where you’re just like, ‘Forget it – I can do anything I want. I’ve tried it, and I’ve never been that girl.” Gomez goes on to explain she is and always will be a good girl, “I’m always going to be the girl you want to take home to your parents, not for the night.”
While the pop star didn’t reveal any details on the current situation with Bieber, she did admit she is open to meeting new people and possibly dating, “I like to say I have a good sense of judgment, but I know that not everybody does. The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve learned that I have to open myself up to all opportunities. Maybe I’ll get burned and not meet the right people, but I won’t know until I do it.” Selena also revealed to the magazine that she is currently in the mindset of letting loose and doing whatever it takes to feel “human and normal,” but she put her boundaries on that as well. The ‘Come & Get It’ singer explains that she isn’t as rebellious as some of her new lyrics may suggest.

Real Talk: Selena is 21 and single now, she should spread her wings and let herself get lost in the moment sometimes. She doesn’t need to be so perfect all the time, one day she’s going to look back and wish she let go at this age. Although, it is so good to hear she is ready to move on from Justin. Selena will always be that great role model celebrity to all of her young audiences; she has that certain charm to her.
